West Jakarta Mayor Inaugurates Star Go West Community

West Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi inaugurated cyclist community in West Jakarta called Star Go West Community (SGWC) on Sunday (10/13).

Thus I invite all people who like cycling to join this community

His side expected this community can encourage more people to use bicycle for their daily activities.

"Cycling habit in daily activities takes a role in making better air quality and climate in the capital city. Thus I invite all people who like cycling to join this community," he mentioned.

Muhidin Supports Phase 2 Bicycle Lane Trial

He explained that his side will prepare the first phase of bicycle lane in West Jakarta with total length 13 kilometers. It starts from Mayor Office, Jalan Puri Kencana, Arjuna Utara, Kedoya until Taman Anggrek Mall.

"We also provide bicycle parking facilities in government offices and malls in West Jakarta. The first bicycle lane with length of 13 kilometers is targeted to complete in December," he stated.

Furthermore, SGWC Head, Achmad Yala mentioned, one of his programs is to encourage all West Jakarta civil apparatuses (ASN) to cycle to work for two days in a week.

His side will also ask companies to require their employees to cycle to work within a month.

"Our long-term program is all apparatuses and private companies employees to cycle to work within a month," he asserted.

SGWC's launching for today is started with cycling together with local residents and West Jakarta ASN from Mayor Office to Taman Anggrek Mall through Jalan Raya Kembangan, Puri Kencana, Arjuna Utara, and Kedoya.

This launching event is held from morning to afternoon and enlivened with music performance and door prize.
